Derbion Cycle Hub FAQ's
What is the Derbion Cycle Hub?
The Cycle Hub aims to encourage more people to travel into the city by bike by offering a safe location to store their bike, which is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The Cycle Hub will offer 26 secure spaces for bikes including a bike repair and pump stations, as well as convenient lockers to store helmets (all this is included in the entry price)
Derbion has delivered the Cycle Hub in partnership with Spokesafe, Spoke Out and Derby City Council and 50% funding with Derby City Council and Derbion.
Spokesafe have supported the design of the space at Derbion and will manage the facility through its specifically designed app system.
Where is it located?
The Cycle hub is located on East Street in Derby.
When is it open?
24 hours a day, seven days a week
How do Customers use it?
To use the service, customers will simply need to visit the Spokesafe web app at www.spokesafe.app and pay a fee of £1 per day to receive a unique secure access code which will give entry to the Derbion Cycle Hub. Customer will need to pre-register before travelling and will need photo ID to sign up. (Membership details below).
What comes with each space?
Each bike rack comes with a dedicated locker for your personal items and access to a communal repair station & pump. Customers will need to bring their own bike locks.
Is there CCTV?
Yes, 24hr CCTV monitored by Control. Spokesafe may request footage if a customer reports an issue to Spokesafe
Can I book overnight?
Currently, bookings run for a calendar day and finish at 11:59pm. Please get in contact with bookings@spokesafe.com if your booking runs across two calendar days.
What happens if Bikes are left for a long period?
Bike dumping is something that Spokesafe monitor. If it’s a PAYG booking they typically will charge the user for the additional time.
Spokesafe will establish a policy for the monthly members but as an example in Finsbury Park which is a TfL location that Spokesafe manage there is a two-week cut-off period.
Customer Communication and Complaints
Spokesafe will handle all customer communications and complaints
The only time they might need to call us on would be to check CCTV, but otherwise they can handle most things directly. Many of those instances are also covered by Spokesafe standard Terms and Conditions.

Currently we do not have these facilities, but it is something we will look at in the future
